Guzmania will add that little spark of interest to your home all year-round. There striking bracts grow from the centre of the plant and can be red, yellow, orange or deep pruple depending on the species.

The Guzmania is known as a prized houseplant outside of it's native South American roots. to pot a Guzmania, put some small decorative stones or pebbles in the bottom of a ceramic or terra cotta pot. The pot should be quite heavy to stop the plant toppling over, as Guzmania tend to be top heavy!

Place a potting medium that is specifically designed for orchids on top of the stones and plant your guzmania in the pot!

Guzmania are super easy to care for! They require low light, and should be kept out of direct sun light. Water in the central cup of the plant and replace the water frequently to prevent it from rotting. Try and keep the soil moist during the spring and summer months, and water less during the colder months.
